The questions every CEO asks first

Is this employee surveillance?

It’s the opposite. The tracker uses your employees’ explicit agreement, never takes screenshots, and lets owners flip on HIPAA or attorney-client mode in one toggle so privileged work is never captured. You see when work happened and on what — not what was typed.

How long does setup actually take?

Five minutes per machine, max. You generate a ZIP from the portal for each employee, they double-click the installer, and the tracker is live and uploading to your dashboard. No env files, no IT involvement.

Where does the data live?

By default on tracker.runbyitself.com (our cloud). For regulated industries we ship the same code as a self-host package — point a Linux VPS at it and you own every byte. SQLite under the hood, easy to back up.

What does the AI report actually look like?

One page per employee per day: highlights paragraph, a table of time per app/project, and a "suggested follow-ups" list. Try the live demo — there’s one waiting for you on the first install.

Can I track which client I’m working for, not just which app?

Yes — that’s the whole point of Projects. Define a rule (window title contains "Acme", or folder name has "acme-platform") and every minute auto-rolls up to that client. Set an hourly rate and the dashboard shows you billable totals.

What if I run out of trust with Stripe / Anthropic?

You don’t need either. The BYO plan is free forever — no Stripe touch, you put in your own Anthropic key (or skip AI reports entirely and just use the raw dashboards).
